What is the Legal Requirement?

It is a statutory duty for employers to carry out Manual Handling assessments, but when possible avoid the need to carry out Manual Handling by mechanising or automating.

Who would benefit from this course?

Anyone involved in moving objects by manual means, whether they are office workers, warehouse operatives or casual labour. Everyone in the workplace should be trained in Manual Handling Techniques

During the course, the following elements wil be covered:

  • Understand the regulation appertaining to Manual Handling and know the employer and employees legal responsibilities
  • Types of injuries suffered as a result of incorrect manual handling
  • Carry out simple weight assessment techniques
  • The correct method for moving objects
  • To know your own capability
  • Know what the maximum weight is that can be moved by men or women
  • Recognise mechanical aids that can assist you

Course Objectives

To teach delegates how to move loads correctly. To demonstrate how back injuries can be eliminated. Demonstrate exercises that can assist you in keeping your back in shape. Know what weights can be moved by men and women.

Location

The course can be carried out at Milne Marketing or at your company premises for upto 15 delegates per session.
